I wonder how many of us are lazy in putting on this cream called sunscreen on our face and body before stepping out. I was that kind of person a few months back because I hate the smell of sunscreens (until I found out there is a fragrance-free option available) and don’t like this white hue all over my body and face. In addition, I had a misbelief that sunscreens are only to protect you from tanning which I don’t care about at all. So the benefits of putting on a sunblock are enormous. It not only saves us from harmful rays but also premature aging.
So here I will share three of my favorite sunscreens, which are multi-use, fragrance-free & effective.
1. CLINIQUE-CITY BLOCK SHEER OIL-FREE DAILY FACE PROTECTOR SPF-25
This specific brand has many unique skincare products, from moisturizers to sunscreens. Anything underneath your makeup should be lightweight and sheer; otherwise, it will make your makeup cakey and uneven. So this clinique city block sunscreen has everything to achieve flawless finished makeup and protect our face from harmful sun radiations. After putting on my favorite moisturizer from the same brand, I put a nice layer of this sunblock all over my face. It quickly absorbs into your skin and makes your skin looks brighter and flawless. So it can be used as a primer as well. I prefer putting on tinted sunscreens rather than creamy white sunscreens. Overall it’s a fantastic product that absorbs excess oil & dries down to give a matte finished & healthy-looking skin.
2. Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer-SPF-20
Every one of us prefers putting on as minimal product as we can on our skin, including me. However, I love the idea of one product used in multiple ways & one such product is this Laura Mercier Tinted moisturizer with SPF-20. It’s a smooth, lightweight & highly nourishing tinted moisturizer that can be used as a makeup primer too. It is available in a variety of shades. This moisturizer is everything you need, from moisturizing to prepping your skin before doing makeup. And the exciting thing about this product is that it gives a sheer hint of coverage so that you can entirely skip putting foundation & it protects your skin from harmful radiation to an extent. However, it may not be the right product for someone who needs protection from prolonged exposure to the sun since it contains an SPF of only 20.
3. Cetaphil mineral sunscreen SPF-50
It’s the best drug store version of mineral sunscreens available to protect your skin from harmful UVA & UVB rays. However, since it’s a mineral sunscreen, it creates visible white patches on our skin & these white patches act like a barrier between harmful rays penetrating our skin. This one product is an absolute must-have in my bag during those hot sunny days at the beach or park. As it melts & disappears quickly, I tend to reapply every few hours. Also, its fragrance & paraben-free make it an excellent sunscreen for the whole family. So if you don’t want to spend a lot of money on a single sunscreen which also requires a refill every 4 to 5 months, this Cetaphil mineral sunscreen with SPF-50 is the best option.
