Indian silk sarees are the symbol of our rich tradition & heritage. silk sarees come in a wide range of varieties from Kanchipuram, banarasi, art silk saree & so on. So this post is all about this beautiful saree of south India called “Kanchipuram silk sarees”.It is generally considered as a bridal saree but it is a perfect saree for any Indian cultural event. So a red Kanchipuram saree is a must-have in any saree lover’s wardrobe.

This orange-red Kanchipuram saree is one of my old saree which I got for my brother’s wedding. Now when I draped it after so long it gave me all the happy memories of my hometown & family. You can always pair it with a matching blouse or a contrasting blouse of any shades that match the saree. for eg here, I paired it with a beautiful purple-colored blouse.I team it up with a traditional necklace set layered it with a Kundan beaded choker & chandbali earrings

Whether Western or traditional, I always look for three critical details in every outfit that I’m gonna wear or buy. Comfort, fitting & is it matches my style?. So my love for long salwars or Kurtis is enormous when it comes to Indian traditional wear. Embroidered Kurtis & salwars or silk Kurtis are my favorite other than chiffon or cotton. So I recently got a Kurti palazzo from a brand called janasya via amazon. It’s a gorgeous silver color silk Kurti with matching palazzo pants. The Kurti has all-over silver prints & also in the palazzo. The dupatta which comes with the set was a simple red cotton blend one, but I paired this Kurti palazzo set with a beautiful orange banarasi dupatta.

I loved every detail about this Kurti set the quality of the fabric is outstanding  & the palazzos wear the perfect fitting for me. So it’s an excellent buy from amazon for a reasonable price. I paired it with oxidized silver jewelry but you can opt for contrasting pearl or Kundan pieces of jewelry as well for this Kurti palazzo set.

Hello gorgeous readers, We all love to dress up in our ethnic traditional clothing from saree to salwars & lehengas . All of our ethnic Indian outfits possess beauty & elegance. However, I’m an Indian girl who prefers wearing western outfits but loves to wear our Indian traditional wear depending upon the occasion &  comfort. So when talking about comfort, we all can agree that out of all the Indian attire, salwars & kurtas are the safest & comfortable option. So a beautiful salwar set or a simple Kurti is an excellent option for any Indian event. Kurtis is available in many fabrics & styles. Here I’m talking about a unique embroidery style kurta called chikankari, one of Lucknow’s best-known decoration styles. It is one of the old embroidery patterns & to make it modern; they added different fabrics & embellishments into it by preserving the original embroidery design.

As you can see, it has white embroidery thread work all over the kurta & it is available in so many different colors, but I fell in love with this blue shade the moment I saw it. You can pair it with matching white chikankari palazzo pants for an all traditional look or go with denim jeans or leggings for a casual & comfortable look. So for this chikankari Kurti look,  keeping the accessories minimal won’t do justice to the overall look so I layered an oxidized silver choker with a long oxidized necklace & matching bangles & statement rings. I believe no Indian look is complete without a deep black winged liner & nude lips.

Saree has gained a lot of attention all around the world. It is not just a long piece of garment. It’s an attire that blends with our rich Indian culture. So a saree comes in a wide variety of fabrics & colors, but I always adore and love traditional silk sarees. A silk saree consists of mainly golden or silver threads for borders & pallus, but many variations are now available in silk sarees. So when choosing a silk saree, I always opt for a lightweight one that is easy to drape & suits the occasion & your personality.

Always make sure the blouse that matches the saree is well-fitted .you can consider adding extra embellishments & elements to the blouse for a more rich look. Also, make sure the petticoat/underskirt for the saree matches with the color of your saree & it shouldn’t be a flared underskirt. I prefer traditional temple designs or antique pieces when choosing jewelry for silk sarees, but you can also add Kundan or pearl statement pieces.

So here I have styled a banarasi silk saree that is the perfect attire for a wedding. This banarasi silk saree matches my style & personality, plus I love purple. Also, it doesn’t have the usual golden pallu. Instead, this saree has all-over silver peacock designs & the pallu is so beautiful with silver threads. I team it up with an elegant temple design antique necklace set with matching earrings & bangles.

Every Indian traditional outfit indeed has its beauty and elegance. I know many Indian women prefer wearing a saree over any other outfit. I was not a big fan of wearing a saree, but until recently, when I started shopping for my blog, that’s when I realized my love for this timeless classic outfit. For me, a saree is all about selecting the suitable fabric and choosing a color that matches your skin tone. As mentioned in my previous posts, I love pastel colors and sheer net embroidered fabrics, so this silver net saree is a recent addition to my Indian ethnic wear.

So I paired this beautiful net silver saree with a matching blouse with a bit of detailing on the back. Oxidized jewelry goes well with this saree. So I matched it with a pair of oxidized silver bangles and earrings.

Organza is a lightweight, thin & silky fabric that looks fresh & gorgeous when worn correctly. My wardrobe predominantly consists of this sheer, lightweight material because it’s comfy & high fashion. From home decor to your clothes, organza fabric will give you a feminine vibe & makes you look stunning. Every saree that I own is lightweight because it’s easy to drape and perfectly matches my style. When team it up with the right shade of blouses, no outfits can beat the beauty & elegance of these gorgeous organza sarees.

So there are no specific rules on how to wear a  saree or what to wear it with a saree you can decide based on your comfort, style & occasion. There are so many remarkable ways you can try with a saree other than the old traditional way. For example, a denim jacket, when worn over a saree, looks fashionable and chic. Also, adding a sleek & thin stretch waist belt to a saree adds so much beauty to the outfit.

So here I have styled my lime green shade organza saree in three different ways.

1. Modern

saree is considered a traditional outfit, but like any attire, we can give it a modern touch by pairing it with the fitting blouse & accessorize. I have never thought about wearing a saree to a party or just for a family meeting up until I figured out there are many lightweight & comfortable options for sarees are available. For example, you can drape an organza saree into any style you desire. An organza saree, when team it up with a spaghetti strap blouse, looks modern & classy.

So in my first look is all about how to give an organza saree a modern touch by preserving the beauty & elegance. I paired this lime green organza saree with a white spaghetti strap blouse as the saree itself is so bright in person I opt to tone it down a little bit on the blouse. So for accessories, as always, I keep it so minimal; just a pearl necklace to enhance the neckline & a beautiful Swarovski bracelet to complement the chain are all I wore for this modern look. Finally, I completed this modern yet elegant look with a tight high ponytail.

2. Boho

Bohemian style is not always tassels & big colorful floral prints. A simple Indian saree can be draped & transformed into a boho style by adding certain boho elements. E.g., pairing up your favorite floral saree or any saree with a  high neck black blouse & adding oxidized silver jewelry is the best idea to create a bohemian vibe. So when choosing silver jewelry, always go for the chunkier statement pieces as it makes your look even more eye-catching.

So I created a boho look with the same organza saree and matched it with a black high neck blouse & for accessories, I go with a long statement neckpiece & matching bangles & rings. Also, if you are a jewelry lover, add more jewelry pieces for this look according to your style.

3.traditional

There are several ways you can drape and style a saree, but we all can agree that grace & elegance are at their best when styled traditionally with heavy blouses & jewelry. An organza saree is an excellent alternative for a heavy silk saree for a wedding party. You can opt for giving it a rich and high fashion look by adding a contrasting designer blouse & heavy Kundan jewelry sets.

SO this third look is an excellent option for getting ready for a special event like a wedding or any Indian festival.

Sometimes I love to add more color to my outfits, so I paired my lime green organza saree with a contrasting royal blue color mirror work blouse. So for accessories, I team it up with my favorite statement Kundan earrings and matching rings and bangles.
